The nature of duodenitis
is not completely understood.
Duodenitis often is a mere
unspezific
reaction to duodenal ulcer.
Endoscopy shows erythematous, erosive or
nodular (figure) changes of the mucosa.

The whole accesable duodenum presents with superficial mucosal lesions.
The histologic work- up only corroberates errosions, but gives no explanation as far
as the etiology of this lesion is concerned. |
