| The cholangiogram shows a choledochal stenosis 2 cm in length. Proximal to the stenosis the biliary tree is dilated. The pancreatic duct is only minimally dilated and a little tortuous. Surgical revision reveals an inoperable cancer of the pancreatic head originating from the peripheral acinar cell of the organ. This explains the missing typical changes of the main pancreatic duct. | |
