Carcinoma of the pancreatic head
Carcinoma of the pancreatic head Severity of stenosis
The cholangiogram shows a choledochal stenosis 2 cm in length. Proximal to the stenosis the biliary tree is dilated. The pancreatic duct is only minimally dilated and a little tortuous. Surgical revision reveals an inoperable cancer of the pancreatic head originating from the peripheral acinar cell of the organ. This explains the missing typical changes of the main pancreatic duct.
Stent Stent with four flaps at each side
A plastic stent drains the biliary duct (left), to the right biliary juice is pouring out to the duodenum after insertion.
Move the mouse´s arrow onto the picture to colour the stent.
