Inflammatory stenosis and
sigmovesical fistula in diverticulitis. Colocutaneous, colovaginal or enteroenteric
fistulas are further examples
of fistula development. Crohn´s disease
should always be considered in those
instances.
A so called poppy- test can proove an
enterovesical fistula. After eating a
poppy- cake a small amount of poppy
can be retrieved from the patient´s urine.
Poppy seems to pass even small fistulas
very well (courtesy: Dr. Schmitt, urologist).
