Fistulizing diverticulitis
Fistulizing diverticulitis Inflammatory stenosis and sigmovesical fistula in diverticulitis. Colocutaneous, colovaginal or enteroenteric fistulas are further examples of fistula development. Crohn´s disease should always be considered in those instances. A so called poppy- test can proove an enterovesical fistula. After eating a poppy- cake a small amount of poppy can be retrieved from the patient´s urine. Poppy seems to pass even small fistulas very well (courtesy: Dr. Schmitt, urologist).
