Melanosis coli of unknown origin Melanosis coli of unknown origin
Melanosis coli in the ascending and transverse colon with typical brown spots of pigment. The patient had no history for laxative abuse or colitis. The significance of this rare finding is not kown.
Sigmoid carcinoma A synchronous occurrence of sigmoid colon cancer is unrelated to the melanosis coli, since both lesions developped in separate parts of the colon.
