Lymphangiectasy
Melanosis coli with lymphangiectasia Melanosis coli with lymphangiectasia
Melanosis coli in the ascending an transverse colon with a brownredish patterm typical of melanosis coli due to admitted laxative abuse. The white dots (right picture shows a magnification) correspond to lymphangiectasies. Pathophysiologically the development of melanosis coli remains obscure, since the pigment is stored in macrophages, but not transported via the lymphatic flow.
