Villous rectal adenoma sized 5x6 cm. For high surgical risk the polyp is endoscopically resected in fractions by cautery snare. Polypoid fractions attached to the submucosa are removed by argonplasma- coagulation. Histology reveals a villous adenoma with grade II dysplasia. After two years with controls every six months the patient remains free of histological recurrence. See also Mucosectomy. |
