Criteria of Hermanek |

Mucosectomy in a 88 year- old, female
high-risk patient. The dark appearing
submucosa is endoscopically and
histologically free of malignant
tissue. Histology defines a stage T1-tumor.
As long as the criteria of Hermanek are
met endoscopic therapy of T1-tumors
is reasonable.

- T1 stage, G1, maximally G2
- lesion resected with edges free of malignant cells
- no lymphatic or blood- vessel infiltrates
- close endoscopic follow-up
