| Left side: a lipoma is depicted with a typically yellow translucent colour owing to the underlying fatty tissue. A submucous tumor is suspected. A very deep biopsy is necessary to obtain a histologic classification. Such deep biopsies are performed as buttonwhole- biopsy. Multiple biopsies are taken from exactly the same location in order to reach deeper layers. The right picture shows the lipoma after a buttonwholebiopsy. | |||
