This huge polypoid tumor is a hyperplastic polyp caused by a mere hyperplasia of the mucosa. These polyps are benign in nature and show malignant progress only in a very low percentage. In case of a prepyloric location it might cause a pyloric obstruction with persisting vomiting. Generally all gastric polyps should be removed endoscopically. |
