Both the pictures cover the course of healing of an ulcer prior to and 3 weeks after beginning of an adequate treatment. The key- shaped lesion with a base beneath the mucosal surface and an elevated mound (left) gets flatter with time (right). The ulcer base is already covered by granular tissue and has nearly reached the level of the surrounding mucosa.
